Wir suchen ab 01.01.2008 eine/einen zur Mitarbeit in einem vom Land Baden-Württemberg öffentlich geförderten Forschungsprojekt am Institut für Angewandte Forschung (IAF) Bereich Marketing/Kommunikationsund Informationsmanagement. Das Projekt hat die Entwicklung eines Verfahrens zur Messung und Steuerung von Ingredient Brands bei Komponentenlieferanten in unterschiedlichen Industrien zum Ziel. Neben der wissenschaftlichen Forschung gehören die Zusammenarbeit mit Unternehmen und anderen Forschungseinrichtungen sowie die Projektorganisation zu den anstehenden Aufgaben. Der/die Bewerber/in sollten ein Hochschulstudium der Betriebswirtschaft mit sehr gutem Abschluss absolviert haben. Bei entsprechenden Voraussetzungen und geeigneter Qualifikation wird im Rahmen dieser Stelle auch die Möglichkeit zu einer Promotion gegeben sein. Um dieses Projekt erfolgreich bearbeiten zu können, sind theoretische wie praktische Kenntnisse von Anwendersoftware unbedingt erforderlich. Freude am Forschen sollte gegeben sein. Die Stelle ist befristet. Die Bezahlung erfolgt nach dem TV-L.

Research Award 
Allied Academies honoured the research efforts about Ingredient Branding during their Spring International Conference in Jacksonville Florida, USA through their Academy of Marketing Studies The research results will be published in the Academy of Marketing Studies Journal in 2007.
The research efforts took place during my research semester in Chicago and were conducted in a team from UIC and UC Irvine. The intention was to improve the understanding of ingredient branding from the component supplier site, the title of the research work is
InBranding: Development of a Conceptual Model
Abstract: With the rapid changes in the global economy and the sophistication of the customers, industrial businesses are being forced to employ more active marketing and branding strategies, strategies that will provide them with the opportunity to be faster and more flexible in responding to the changing competitive conditions in the supplier industry and to constantly changing customer needs. The purpose of this article is to introduce and differentiate ingredient branding from other branding opportunities, specifically, distinguish co-branding from ingredient branding, then, postulate InBranding as a new term for ingredient branding with special emphasis on the component producer and clarifying the supplier versus manufacture based perspectives. Brand literature on these differentiations does not exist yet and therefore this article aims to fill the gap.

"Beim Marketing sozialer Organisationen besteht ein großer Nachholbedarf, behaupten die Autoren. Warum dafür allerdings ein weiterer Marketingratgeber notwendig war, fragt man sich bis zur letzten Zeile, denn von wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen steht hier nichts, was man nicht auch in jedem anderen Marketingbuch lesen könnte. Die einfachsten Grundlagen werden erklärt, noch dazu recht theoretisch ("Unter Öffentlichkeit versteht man die Gesamtheit der möglicherweise an einem Ereignis teilnehmenden Personen ohne jede Begrenzung in der Anzahl oder durch sonstige Einschränkungen.") - viel Universitätswissen, das mit der Praxis noch nie auf Tuchfühlung gegangen ist. Einzig das Fallbeispiel der Neuen Caritas Stiftung, mit dem der Titel dann doch noch seine Daseinsberechtigung erlangt, dürfte anderen sozialen Organisationen ganz gute Anregungen geben. Wie so oft, wenn Autoren aus dem universitären Milieu am Werk sind, wimmelt es auch hier von ermüdenden Passivsätzen und Nominalkonstruktionen. Trotz dieser Mängel meinen wir: Vor allem wegen des branchenspezifischen Praxisbeispiels kann dieses Buch Mitarbeitern sozialer Organisationen, die sich die Grundlagen des Marketing aneignen wollen, empfohlen werden."

B2B Brand Management covers a lot of territory and has some great case histories. The language sometimes requires a little time to interpret, but you can figure what they're trying to say.
